About Me
Dr. Christi L. Culpepper-Walker, also known as Dr. CC, is a licensed Clinical Psychology practicing in the DMV area. Dr. CC enjoys conducting therapy with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Dr. CC also enjoys sharing her mental health knowledge as well as her experience through workshops, trainings, and other speaking opportunities.
My Background
Education
Dr. Culpepper-Walker received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Tuskegee University, her Master of Science degree in Applied Psychology from the University of South Alabama, and her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville). Dr. Culpepper-Walker also completed a one-year doctoral internship at the University of Florida/Shands Hospital System. After completing her internship, she went on to complete a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Specialization
While Dr. Culpepper-Walker is trained in a number of areas within mental health, she currently enjoys conducting child and family therapy. Her approach to therapy is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and also includes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. ​

In addition to providing therapeutic services, Dr. Culpepper-Walker is involved in training some of the best and brightest as she is the director of the postdoctoral fellowship program within her therapy clinic.

Topics of Interest

Dr. Culpepper-Walker provides presentations, trainings, and workshops on various topics to other providers as well as people in the community. Some of these topics include self-care for mental health providers, provider burnout, the importance of being your authentic self, finding your voice, and leaning into your M.A.G.I.C.
When speaking/training, Dr. Culpepper-Walker utilizes her expertise as well as her experiences to provide an unforgettable and valuable experience for all who attend!
Who I Help
My speaking/training services are geared towards mental health and healthcare providers, lay people, and communities of color.
How I Do It
I provide workshops, presentations, and trainings that combine my expertise as a clinical psychologist with my lived experiences. I create speaking and training experiences that are safe spaces for attendees to be vulnerable, encourage reflection, and motivate movement towards positive change.
